TTC 200 hours is a 30-day residential course based on the ancient Gurukul system where teacher and students live within the Ashram compound. On completion of the course, students will receive a Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance International accredited certificate.
Dormitory style accommodation is located in the quiet, rural countryside on the outskirts of Mysore. During the 4 week course students will receive instruction on traditional Hatha Yoga. The aim of the course is to focus on personal, mental, and physical growth.

Course Requirements

What are the requirements to join TTC 200 hours ?

  • Beginners to Intermediate level
  • Basic knowledge of Asanas
  • A high degree of self-motivation and discipline is required for all aspects of the course
  • To ensure the success of the programme, participants are required to do shatkarmas, attend morning meditation classes, asana classes, lectures, internal Yoga and Kirtan.

Are there days off ?

Yes. Every Sunday is a day off.

Are there any additional fees to be paid apart from the Course fees itself ?

What items we request to bring to the Course ?

Please bring the following things for uninterrupted stay in the Ashram.

 

1. 3 photocopies of the passport and 3 photocopies of valid visa (mandatory for registration)

2. 3 photocopies Adhaar card (only for Indian students)

3. Cash – to pay the fee balance for the course (Dollars and Euro are accepted)

4. Notebook and pen

5. A torch and umbrella

6. Indian currency

7. Mosquito repellent

8. Personal cosmetics

9. Toiletries (toilet paper, washing detergent, soap, shampoo, shower gel, tissue paper, etc)

10. Knife to cut fruits if needed

11. Loose, decent clothing for asana classes:

• Tops should cover shoulders, chest and back

• Bottoms should be below the knees

12. One pair of white trousers is required (one yellow t-shirt will be provided by the Ashram)

How to get to the Ashram ?

There is a direct bus from Bangalore International Airport (Terminal 1) to Mysore City bus station operated by Fly Bus. Please see it’s timetable here (Bangalore Airport to Mysore Bus).

From Mysore City bus station you could either take a taxi or a tuk-tuk to get to the Ashram. To get Ashram’s address please search for “Praguna Yoga Shala” on Google Maps and show it to the driver. Alternatively, find our address by tapping the link below for directions https://maps.app.goo.gl/kBCnYxmaUrGSsC1h9.

You could also use buses No. 204 or 205 to get to Devalapura. These leave from the Rural Mysore bus station which is different from the Mysore City bus station into which the Fly Bus arrives. Rural Mysore bus station is 15 minutes walking distance from Mysore City bus station.

The Ashram is located 500 metres away from Devalapura Bus stop.

What is the code of Conduct to be followed during the stay ?

  • Silence is mandatory in Yoga Shala (Practice area), dormitory area and during the meal.
  • Absolute silence is to be observed on “Silence days”.
  •  No electronic gadgets should be used in the Shala or dormitory. For study purposes one can use a laptop, an iPad or Kindle but it  should not disturb anyone else in the dormitory.
  • Decent clothing is mandatory. Transparent clothes, backless, sleeveless, shorts above the knee are not allowed in the Ashram.
  • Punctuality to all classes is mandatory. In case of medical issues, students are required to inform the teacher immediately.
  • Before leaving the dormitory or Yoga Shala, always make sure the lights and fans have been turned off.
  • Students are allowed to leave the Ashram on Sunday to buy necessary items from the village or Mysore city.
  • Students should always check out before leaving and check in upon return in the register.
  • Pillows or blankets should always be taken back to the dormitory if you brought them to Yoga Shala for any practice class.
  • All the props (sticks, blocks, back-benders, straps, stools, chairs) should be put back to their places after the class.
  • Toilet paper or plastic should NOT be flushed to the toilets, use buckets provided instead.
  • Don’t leave your Yoga mat or notebook lying around without supervision.
  • Please do not interrupt the class. If you have any suggestions, doubts or complaints please discuss them with the Yogacharya during the break between the classes.
  • Once entered to Yoga Shala, students must behave decently and communicate as silently as possible.
  • Hugging, loud speaking, using abusive language are strictly prohibited inside the Shala.
  • Any form of intoxication is strictly forbidden.

What kind of food is served ?

Vegan, Non-dairy, Satvik food (ghee or coconut oil is served with particular dishes)
